It’s More than Just TV

Family time is very important, but it’s hard to find the time to make it happen when the kids are always on the go or you’re busy with a job and other obligations. You must take advantage of it while you can, because they’ll be out of the house before you know it.

Playing games, family outings, and cooking together are just a few of the things you can do together. Each of these things can be done together and don’t take much time at all to set up and get started. You’ll find laughing and talking will happen while you’re together.

Another way to be together is to watch television. You’ll find shows you can learn from and movies that are perfect for children of all ages. It’s another perfect way to be together. I’ve been doing research on this very idea and I ran across Direct TV. There options are really good and the price is even better. As a family of four and with growing boys, we need to save where we can and I found this might just be a way to make it happen.

During the research I was doing I found a lot of options when it comes to TV, but I didn’t find as many channels to choose from and when you have kids you need options. The DX3 Direct TV options are amazing because not only do they give you different packages to choose from but they also give you dollar amount options too. It’s perfect because you can make the right choice depending on your channel needs and budget concerns.

If you’re looking for ways to spend time with your family and you’re considering the options you have when it comes to movies and family TV shows, you need to consider DX3. Their prices are reasonable and the channel choices are great.

Tips for Spending Time with your Family

Spending time with your family is important, but it’s even more important when you include God in what you do. As a Christian family it’s more important now then ever to continually be in the Word. The devil is out there to kill, steal, and destroy and he’s going to try now matter what, so staying in the Word is the way to prevent that from happening.

It’s important and vital to continually show your children how God can help them in their lives and the best way to do that is to include God in everything you do. You can do this very easily and in every single thing you do when you think about what you’re doing and how you can make it happen.

There are so many things you can do to have God in your life. I have thought about this and have come up with a number of ways. One way is to do daily prayer together. This can be done in the morning before you head out for the day or in the evening right before the kids go to bed. Another way is to have daily Bible study with the family. This will help you keep in the Word daily and you’ll be able to get through any situation that may come up.

Family Time: Playing Darts

Spending time together as a family is so important. Your children need to know you care about them and you want to spend time with them no matter what you have going on. If you’re as busy as I am you know spending time with your family can be a challenge, but it’s important you find a way to make it happen.

One thing we enjoy doing is playing a game of darts. My hubby has an electronic dartboard which saves us time because we don’t have to keep track of the score. The board takes care of it for us which gives us more time to play.

Kevin’s board has a game that we really enjoy. The first person to reach 321 wins, but the difficult part of the game is that your score can go to zero quickly. If someone gets the same score as someone else that person goes to zero and the person that hit that score gets to continue on. It’s a lot of fun and brings a lot of smiles and laughter to the room.

So if you are not spending quality time with your family, you need to find a way to make it happen. Even if it’s only 15 or 20 minutes, you need to make it happen. You’re children will thank you for it.

Spending Time With Our Boys!

Spending time with your family is important. Studies show the more time you spend with your children, the less likely you are to have children that get into trouble, do drugs, and other things. Some people question this study, but I would have to say it’s pretty close to the truth.

My husband and I spend a lot of time with our boys. We go to as many sporting activities as possible and we talk to them all the time. We’ve been really luck to be able to go to all of the away games with the exception of one and we go to all of the home games. We play the Xbox or Wii with the boys and we talk before, during, and after dinner. We also help with homework and whatever else needs to be done.

Spending time with our boys means a lot to us and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s very important to us and something we look forward to each day. I know our boys feel the same way as well. I know this because of a comment our oldest made a few weeks ago. This is what he said.

“Mom, I always know you and dad are at my games because I can hear you.” I asked him if that was ok and he said, “Yes I love it because I’m one of the few kids that is lucky enough to have parents that go to the games.”

Boy I’ll tell you what. As a mom that melted my heart. I felt like I was on top of the world. I knew all of our hard work and dedication to our boys was paying off. They saw what we did and what we gave up and they appreciated it. I loved it!

So to end this post, I just want to say how much I love my boys and my husband. They are my life and they are why I do what I do each and every day! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

It’s Christmas Eve! 1 More Day to Go!

It’s Christmas Eve and the excitement is in the air. Well I must say it’s been here for several days, but each day that goes by brings us that much closer to Christmas and needless to say, the boy’s are so excited.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are very busy around our house. On Christmas Eve we start out at my aunt’s house for dinner, then we go to my parents for a few presents, and then we go to Kevin’s mom’s house to visit. This year we’re making the strawberry sauce for the ham so we’re going to his Dad’s house to make that in between my parents and Kevin’s mom’s house.

Christmas Day is even busier. We’ll open presents at home, then go to Kevin’s mom’s, then my grandma’s, then my parents, then to Kevin’s dad’s, then home for a bit, then back to my parents for dinner, and then to Kevin’s mom again. Needless to say it’s a very busy day for us!

Family is important to us and that’s why we go to all of these different places. We love to visit with others and be around the ones we love.

The Gingerbread House

My youngest son and my mother-in-law built the best gingerbread house ever. They worked really hard on it and had a really good time doing it. It has skittles, M & M’s, gum drops, and frosting. Below is a picture we took.

Spending time together is good for everyone involved, but it’s really good for children. It gives them a sense of being loved and needed. I love spending time with my kids, how about you? What activities do you enjoy doing with your kids? We do a lot as a family and we enjoy doing things together.
