How to Create a Family Calendar

When you look at a calendar multiple times a day, it’s important you enjoy what you’re looking at each time. Who wants to look at pictures you don’t enjoy? I know I don’t, so it’s important to have one you’ll want to look at.

I have found one of the best ways to have a calendar you want to look at is to make one of your own. If you have the ability to do this it’s really fun and it gives you the chance to make it the way you want. The one I did this year contained pictures of things I like such as my boys, my husband, my favorite flowers, sayings, and holiday pictures. I made this calendar with my family and friends so it was even more perfect.

To do this type of calendar you’ll need 13 8 ½ x 11 card stock sheets, pictures, theme sheets, tape or glue, calendar sheets (2 per page), rings or binding combs and a single hole punch. Cut the card stock sheets and calendars in half. Place each calendar on one of the half sheets with the glue or tape. Cut the pictures and theme sheets to fit on the remaining sheets. You’ll have a cover for the front and back so you’ll want to keep that in mind. When you’re done you’ll want to put a punched hole in the middle of each sheet at the bottom so you can place your calendar on the wall with a tack or nail. Now you need to put it together with the rings or binding combs.

Another option is hire a scrapbooker to do this project for you. You’ll need to provide the pictures and give some insight as to what you want and they’ll put it all together and print it for you and it’ll be all ready to go. With this option you can go with the traditional scrapbooking technique or you can go digital. Your scrapbooker should be able to show you examples of both types so you can decide which option you want to go with for your calendar.

When you create your own calendar it’s important you make it work for you. You’ll need to decide on a size and design that will work for what you’re looking for.

Creating a family calendar to place in your office or kitchen is one you’ll treasure for years to come. Whether you make it yourself or you hire someone to do it for you, you’ll love to look at it and it’ll be so much better than the ones you purchase in the stores.

Theme Calendar Help

I’ve decided I need to create a calendar for my mommy blog. I have done such a great job with the WAHM-Articles blog that I think I’m going to give it a try for the month of December. I’m planning on participating in a 30 day blog challenge in January, so why not prepare ahead of time and start now?

I’m not sure what the topics will be, but I’m sure it’s bound to increase my traffic and that’s what I want to see. When I started blogging during the 30 day blog challenge four months ago I tripled my traffic and increased my business. I’d love to see that happen with my mommy blog too. :)

I’ve thought about taking a day to talk about the sports my boys are involved in at the time, I thought about another day where I talk about a new recipe we tried and maybe another day where I share a frugal tip. I really like theme days, but I also like the idea of having two themes for each day so I don’t get bored with one.

When I get my calendar created, I’ll share it with you so you can see what my thoughts are and how I plan on making posts on this blog. If you have a thought for a theme or post, please share it in the comments. I’d love your help.
